I tried out two new recipes this weekend. A Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough truffle (absolutely amazing) and Raspberry Chocolate Truffles (they're good, but pale compared to the others)

I have pronounced Nutella a couple of different ways in this video according to the following link: www.howjsay.com both are correct. (Nut - ella and Newt-ella) I have little patience with comments about how I pronounce my words, just an advance warning (but then people that make comments like that are unlikely to take the time to read the description box, lol! ) 12 oz (about 2 cups chopped or chipped) chocolate 1/2 cup whipping cream 2 cups sweetened chestnut spread (Nutella) 1/4 cup bourbon whiskey 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa (to dip or dust finished truffles in, optional) Another 12 oz chopped chocolate (or chocolate chips) for melting to dip truffles in. Place chocolate in medium bowl. Heat whipping cream to simmering and pour over chocolate in bowl. Let sit for two minutes and then stir until smooth. Add in Nutella and bourbon and stir until blended. Cover and chill for 4 hours or until firm. Line cookie sheets with cooking parchment or waxed paper. Make small ball shapes using about a tsp of the chilled chocolate/nutella mixture and place on cookie sheet. Freeze the balls until firm about an hour. Melt second amount of chocolate in in medium bowl in the microwave. Using hands (or spoon as discussed in video) drop frozen truffles in melted chocolate and roll with hands until completely coated. Roll in cocoa if desired or decorate with sprinkles while coating is still wet.. Place on cookie sheet to harden at room temperature or place in refrigerator. Store in the fridge ...

How come truffle chocolates dont have any truffles?
I've always eaten different kinds of "truffle" chocolates but I
still don't know how a truffle truly tastes like. Anyone know
of a chocolate with real truffles and not incredibly small amounts of it?

Answer by Bob Rocks
truffles are called truffles bc their shape is similar to the bitter can or semi bitter fresh truffle that goes for 500 euro per kg. some chocolate truffles (esp. white) use truffle oil to add flavor
