James Harrison has been suspended one game without pay by the NFL for his helmet-to-helmet collision with Colt McCoy, the NFL announced Tuesday. It is Harrison's fifth illegal hit against a QB in the past three seasons.

Football Executive Vice President Beam Anderson said Tuesday the actual suspension is the response to Harrison's fifth illegal strike against a qb in the past three periods.
Harrison, who can appeal, set a helmet-to-facemask hit upon McCoy during the Steelers' 14-3 victory in the Browns. The 2009 NFL Defensive Player of year was penalized with regard to roughing the passer about the play and stated Monday he thought the hit failed to warrant further abuse.
If the suspension just isn't overturned or reduced upon appeal, Harrison won't be permitted to be at team amenities until next Wednesday, Dec. 20.
Trainer Mike Tomlin said they respects the league's determination while acknowledging Harrison's participate in was a foul.
"We're unhappy for James due to the fact we know how tough he's worked to learn within the rules,In . Tomlin said. "We accept your judgment rendered through the league office along with we'll move forward.Inch
He is the second participant suspended by the little league this season for on-the-field execute. Detroit Lions NT Ndamokung Suh was stopped two games regarding stomping on an opponent recently.
