Harry Morgan died after struggle with pneumonia

Harry Morgan  died Wednesday at age 96, was one of the first people I can remember seeing on television, in an early-'60s situation comedy called "Pete and Gladys," about which I can remember nothing else except that it also starred an actress named Cara Williams,

Harry Morgan , best known for his role as Col. Potter in   M*A*S*H  , died Wednesday at his home in Los Angeles.During his long acting career, Harry Morgan showed a flair for deadpan comic delivery

Harry Morgan is a long-time character actor, famous as Col. Sherman Potter on  M*A*S*H , and as Officer Bill Gannon,  Jack Webb 's sidekick on the 1960s revival of  Dragnet . He played Pete, the wacky neighbor, then he took the character to a spin-off series,  Pete & Gladys  with Cara Williams.  But he will live on in the classic shows like MASH, which never gets old on rewatching, always had a soft spot for Col Potter.

On other series, he played sidekick to  Dennis Weaver  in  Kentucky Jones ,  Robert Conrad  on  The D.A. , and  Richard Boone  twice, on the early '60s anthology  The Richard Boone Show
His son Charles confirmed his death,  suffering from pneumonia recently.
